Your trip starts with a warm welcome in Luxor, as you are picked up from the airport or your hotel. The day starts with a visit to the most famous temples: Karnak, known for its enormous columns, and Luxor, with all the beautiful drawings of most battles.
Later on in the afternoon, you get on board with your private luxury dahabiya, a traditional sailing boat that gives the breeze and so much comfort. With the soft breeze filling the sails, you stride slowly along the Nile, leaving the city behind. You dock in Qena for your first night onboard, surrounded by the calm waters and starlit sky you get to have a peaceful night of sleep.
Morning brings you to the incredible Dendera Temple, one of Egypt’s best-preserved treasures, dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty. Wandering through its grand halls, you feel the whispers of ancient rituals.
After getting back onboard, your dahabiya begins the journey back to Luxor. Along the sail down, you get to stop at the peaceful village of Garagos. where time seems to slow down as you go strolling through its peaceful streets, getting to communicate with the citizens and learning about their simple, traditional way of life. Back on board, you dock in Luxor for the night, the sounds of the small waves putting you to sleep.
on this day, you get to cross the Nile to Luxor’s West Bank, where ancient history comes alive. You get to see the Valley of the Kings, amused by all the hidden tombs of Egypt’s greatest pharaohs. Nearby, Hatshepsut’s Temple rises against the cliffs, a striking symbol of power and elegance.
Later noon when the sun begins to go, your dahabiya sets sail once again, and you get to head south towards Esna. The gentle rhythm of the water and the beautiful scene surrounding you let you fall into the evening docking in Esna for the night.
The day kicks off with an early breakfast as your dahabiya passes through the Esna Lock, an experience that gives you an insight into local life on the river. You get to visit the Temple of Esna and take a walk through the town’s lively streets while meeting the locals and interacting with them all.
Getting back on board, we sail towards El Kab, the home of which most of the ancient tombs were carved into the cliffs. There, the stories of Nekhbet, the vulture goddess, are etched into the walls. When the night falls, your dahabiya gets to dock at Imam Island, where the peaceful surroundings make it best for a perfect night gazing at the stars under the moonlight.
After having breakfast with the light waves, you arrive at the Temple of Edfu, one of Egypt’s well-preserved monuments A very impressive sight to see, As you walk through its towering halls, you can almost feel the power of Horus, the falcon god, watching over you.
Later in the day, your trip takes you to Bassao Island. Here, life feels frozen in time. A small walk through the village reveals the traditional culture of life that’s very humble and heartwarming. As the night falls, your dahabiya finds a place to dock near the sandstone cliffs of El Selsela Mountain.
The morning kicks off with a visit to the ancient quarries of El Selsela, where the stones for Egypt’s greatest temples were found. going on with our sail, we reach the breathtaking Kom Ombo Temple, shared by two gods: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon.
Let the day end with a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the camel market in Daraw, where the skills of local trade unfold in front of your own eyes. By the evening, you arrive at Herdiab Island, where the peacefulness of the Nile treats you to a good night’s sleep.
As the last day begins we get to have a beautiful breakfast onboard as the dahabiya makes its way to Aswan. After checking out of the boat, you get to visit Philae Temple, which is sitting gracefully on an island all alone. Its beauty is a fitting end to your journey.
